CLOSE CALL

Limbaugh, Kerry Nearly Meet

What would happen if Rush Limbaugh and John Kerry bumped into each other in a public place?

According to the Washington Post, that's what almost occurred at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center yesterday, as the talk titan missed the unpopular Massachusetts senator by mere moments. Both were there to visit injured servicemen and women.

From their story:

When Worlds (Nearly) Collide!

All kinds of close calls these days!

John Kerry came thisclose to bumping into Rush Limbaugh when both made unannounced visits to troops at Walter Reed yesterday morning.

The conservative radio host was in town for a WMAL fundraising appearance at the Warner Theatre for Fisher Houses, which accommodate families of wounded vets; a radio exec accompanying him said the hospital staff seemed to do "some fancy footwork" to keep him from intersecting with the Senate Democrat.

A Kerry aide said the senator (who's made several quiet visits there in recent years) had no idea Limbaugh was in the building.

On today's show, Limbaugh himself noted that he also had no idea Kerry was nearby, as they were intentionally kept apart by tour supervisors. He expressed hope that the two would someday meet.

El Rushbo was in town for a performance sponsored by WMAL-AM, the ratings- troubled DC news/ talker.

  • what makes Kerry "unpopular", as you so called him? the fact that 59,028,111 voted for him in 2004? or the fact that you don't know how to properly use adjectives? i'm going with the latter.

  • I wish that Kerry, Lincoln Chafee, Christine Todd Whitman or some other Democrat or moderate Republican would publicly stand up to Rush Limbaugh and fight back against how he negatively defines all people who do not agree with him to over 20 million people!

Rush Limbaugh is very powerful, he hates moderates in the Republican Party as well as Democrats, and the vast majority of people who he trashes and negatively defines constantly just take his abuse and do nothing serious that I can see to fight back against him and to stand up for themselves as I have credibly documented:

DOCUMENTATION & ANALYSIS: Bush met with Sean Hannity & Media to Firm Up Support!

ANALYSIS: Keeping moderate Republicans at home if they won't vote for a Democrat

Rush Limbaugh also gets his own private audience with Bush and Karl Rove in the Oval Office (while Hannity and others go in groups) and all of extreme right wing wing talk radio reaches 30 million people which is about one half of the total amount of people who voted for Bush in 2004:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/us/politics/17radio.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

As Talk Radio Wavers, Bush Moves to Firm Up Support

"(Mr. Limbaugh said that he met with Mr. Bush and Karl Rove, the president’s chief strategist, in the Oval Office in June, but generally tried to keep his distance to maintain independence.)"

“Still, officials said, the meeting with the radio hosts gave Mr. Bush a chance to speak intimately with a group that reaches an overwhelmingly Republican audience of 30 million people per week.”

How I wish that Democratic and moderate Republican leaders would respond to this arrogant yet very serious challenge of Rush Limbaugh's in an organized, credible, and national manner:

LIMBAUGH: "Neil, there is a new media out there today that doesn't let the left get away with defining the news, defining the circumstances, defining personalities and so forth.

And they haven't learned how to deal with it. They haven't learned how to deal with people like me, the problems they think FOX News causes, and everybody else. They are still in their 30-year-old playbook, in which they think they still — all they have to do is, you know, portray somebody they want to portray them, and the American people will see it, swallow it, and like it."

If Democrats and moderate Republicans do not fight back, then Limbaugh will keep on negatively defining his political opponents to over 20 million people which will make it much more difficult for them to connect their messages with the voters!

I have given some serious ideas that Democratic and moderate Republican leaders might be able implement to effectively fight back and I am always open to ANY comments and feedback as well as to ANY other ideas:

    Hackery, pure crap.

  • Why should a war hero answer to an opiate junkie?

In what other country would this be considered rational behavior?

  • >>unpopular Massachusetts senator

He would win his state easily if he ran for re-election as Senator. But a run for Prez would be a different story. Mr. Botched Joke and his
running mate were shut out down South
(despite Breck Girl being a Carolina
guy) and in many other states in the
sea of red. Hillary may also have
    trouble.

Read a book by a Dem, Zell Miller:
A National Party No More. If the
Dems can't win in what was once the solid South, as in '00 and '04,
they can't win the Presidency...Not unless some kind of electoral college math can prevail...

By Blogger raccoonradio, at 18 November, 2006 04:15

  • Zell Miller is not a real Democrat.

By Blogger hashfanatic, at 18 November, 2006 08:10

  • And just what do you mean by that hash? Someone who proposes tax hikes for the rich, socialist medicine programs, allowing courts like the 9th circuit to strike down the Pledge of Allegiance?

Zell Miller was and still is as far as I know, an AMERICAN!

He sort of harkins back to Truman and FDR--when the party, though left, cared about America. This party lead by nutjobs like Dean, Pelosi, Murtha and heralded by people like George Sugar Daddy Soros, Michael Moore, "Jihad" Cindy Sheehan and the Hollywood left, WANTS AMERICA TO BECOME THE SOCIALIST UTOPIA I WAS "TAUGHT" IN COLLEGE!

Which is why I say to family and friends, many of whom are Democrats--I didn't leave the Democratic party, The Democratic Party LEFT ME!

  • No problem, dude.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya...and take Miller and Lieberman with you!

By Blogger hashfanatic, at 18 November, 2006 09:40

  • DA SAME TO YOU, SLAPNUT! I

n fact if I had it in me, with some exceptions, I WANT TO SEE DEMOCRATS FACE EXTREME PUNISHMENT FOR TRYING TO RUIN THIS COUNTRY!

Oh, and if they want a trial, they'll get it--A MILITARY TRIBUNAL THAT IS! CHEW ON THAT!

By Blogger The Real Bob Anthony, at 19 November, 2006 10:55

  • Oh, HMMoG, didn't they feed you your eight fish sticks for tonight's dinner yet?
